I just saw @xthebandofficial , in all likelihood, for the last time. This is the band that I’ve seen the most times of any other, and next to CLASH, the most influential. Billy Zoom made a massive impact on my approach to the electric guitar and has been imprinted on the DNA of everything I do on the instrument since the very beginning. Exene and John Doe’s harmonized vocals, John Doe’s huge pocket bass playing, and DJ Bonebrake’s incredible drumming supporting the phenomenal songwriting. I’m trying to process everything I’m feeling about last night’s show, but I know one thing for sure: this band will continue to be important for many more years to come. And you’ll continue to be a part of me for the rest of my life.

And tonight, you left me… breathless.
